Object Writing
This is a space for songwriters of every level to get together and work on their craft. The space is absolutely FREE. The goal is to build a community and learn from and with each other and most of all, TO HAVE FUN!!
Object writing is an exercise suggested by Pat Pattinson in his book “Writing Better Lyrics”. It has helped many songwriters to improve their lyrics writing skill.
DETAILS:
The session will be led by me, singer and vocal coach Vicky Tsankova. I am in no way shape or form there to tutor you. My role will take an organisational form - introduce and lead the tasks. I have scheduled out 3 h for the session however you can come in and out as you wish. The program has been taken straight out of Pat Pattinson’s book that I mentioned above.
HOW TO PREPARE:
⭐ Schedule the event in your calendar
⭐ Choose your writing medium (notebook, computer, typewriter, quill and quire)
⭐ Get snacks and water (so you don’t get hangry and let your inner beast out)
RULES:
🤝 After each read round, the writer will point out at least one thing they like about their piece and then say if there was something they would like to improve. After that writer will have to VERBALLY ask for advice or give permission for the others to give advice.
🤝 Advice s only going to be given in a constructive and respectful way. No ridiculing will be tolerated. We’re here to have fun and learn together! If you’re disrespectful, you’re going to be blocked out of the session.
